Chili Pepper - Hand Painted Art Tile
$45.95Living in Arizona for over a decade we used to travel to Santa Fe New, Mexico during Fall – the harvest season for their magnificent red chili peppers. They have five foot long “ristras” of these large red chili pods hanging down under their adobe- arched doorways. So we took some home and they became the basis for this vibrant red “Chili” tile design.

Wine and Cheese - Hand Painted Art Tile
$45.95Dating back to the 18th century, Spanish Missionaries planted the first vineyards along with each Mission established to produce wine for Church ceremonies and for daily life. The original cuttings came from Mexico and were the descendants of the “common black grape” which was brought to the New World by Herman Cortez in 1520. California accounts for 90% of American wine production. I live down the street from a small “boutique” vineyard on only 10 acres. I have helped pick grapes during their Fall harvest and afterwards they have a wonderful outdoor dinner to celebrate. I added a loaf of bread and some cheese to my outdoorsy wine design. Cheers!

Full Rooster - Hand Painted Art Tile
$45.95For this design I had to run out in my backyard and try and follow around one of our fast-moving Bantam Roosters. He would never sit still and pose for me but I was able to still glimpse flashes of his beautiful greenish- blue iridescent hued black feathers he had on his perky curved tail. Actually he was like a rainbow of colors one merging into the other – what a work of art. This tile is hand painted the same way where one color glaze merges into the next one.

Mono Lake
$45.95I have kayaked this very salty lake whose only fish is brine shrimp ! The islands in the lake are where seagulls nest and breed. Osprey also make nests on top of the tufas but must fly to other fresh water lakes far away to provide fish for their chicks.

San Luis Rey de Francia Mission - Hand Painted Art Tile
$45.95Mission San Luis Rey de Francia, also known as Mission San Luis Rey or San Luis Rey Mission Church, was founded on June 13, 1798 in coastal Las Californias, in the present day U.S. city of Oceanside in California. The local Quechnajuichom Native American tribe became known as the Luiseño 'Mission Indians', after the Mission's 'Luis'. The current church, built in 1811 is the third church on this location. It is a National Historic Landmark, for its pristine example of a Spanish Mission Church complex.

$45.95Mission San Juan Capistrano was a Spanish mission in Southern California, located in present-day San Juan Capistrano. It was founded on All Saints Day November 1, 1776, by Spanish Catholics of the Franciscan Order. Named for Giovanni da Capistrano, a 15th century theologian and "warrior priest" who resided in the Abruzzo region of Italy, San Juan Capistrano has the distinction of being home to the oldest building in California still in use, a chapel built in 1782.

Polar Bear - Hand Painted Art Tile
$45.95Actually I must give credit to my son, Jeremy for this polar bear’s design. He drew this bear in class during high school as a proto-type for one he would be eventually carving out of soap stone. It was such a playful yet elegant design that I “borrowed” it from him. After all this is a family business and we all chip in! Due to climatic changes in the ice patterns up North the polar bear is currently listed as a threatened species.

Garlic - Hand Painted Art Tile
$45.95The truth be that we were trying to get accepted into the famous Garlic Festival in California and so I did a garlic design to increase our chances of getting into the show with our tiles. I couldn’t find a suitable picture of a garlic clove so I used one fresh one right out of my kitchen and it is amazing all the nuances of color that I found on that one little clove. It is my “plein air” garlic clove!
