This tile portrays a Navajo Woman dressed in her traditional costume that they still wear today. They enjoy wearing the long pleated skirts which are made of velvet which compliments the beautiful traditional silver jewelry they make. You can see them on Market Days in Santa Fe New Mexico's main Plaza with their blankets spread on the plaza selling their beautiful creations...I lived in Arizona for many years and traveled to New Mexico frequently to sell my own wares there.
